Find the source field
cbc:DocumentCurrencyCode
Match namespace URI and element name, not a particular prefix spelling. The validator reports the full expanded-name source path when the published rule supplies a location.
Common causes
- A lowercase currency code was exported.
- A currency name or symbol was used instead of a 3-letter ISO 4217 code.
- The code is absent from the selected release’s list.
Invalid and corrected fragments
<cbc:DocumentCurrencyCode>eur</cbc:DocumentCurrencyCode>
<cbc:DocumentCurrencyCode>EUR</cbc:DocumentCurrencyCode>
Use the actual invoice currency from source records. A recognized code can be uppercased only after confirmation; never guess the currency from an amount or a party address.

These are fragments, not complete invoices. The exact rule is exercised by synthetic mutation tests against the stated package. Correcting one field does not prove conformance; run the full selected validator again. Published messages and severity remain authoritative.
